Growing features

Like all late-ripening varieties, Dates tomatoes are sown for seedlings in March. For seedlings, a light soil is needed from a mixture of garden soil, peat and river sand; for greater nutritional value, superphosphate, potash fertilizers and wood ash are added. Sowing depth of seeds - no more than 1 cm.

Seedlings need additional lighting and careful watering with warm water. After the formation of 2 true leaves, the seedlings dive into separate pots. Transplanting into a greenhouse or into open ground is carried out at the end of May, when the soil warms up enough. Before planting, the holes are plentifully spilled with hot water.

Tomatoes require tying to supports or trellises... Pinching is recommended, but a few lower stepsons can be left, they will also bear fruit. Abundant watering is necessary during flowering and fruit formation, it is better to use warm water. To accelerate maturation, open tanks with diluted mullein are installed in the greenhouse.

At least 2 times a week, tomatoes need root feeding with organic matter or mineral complex fertilizers. The soil must be loosened often, trying not to injure the roots.

Pests and diseases: ways to fight

In open field conditions, you need to change crops in places, planting tomatoes in a new place every 2-3 years. Tomatoes grow well in soils where greens were grown: parsley, beans, lettuce, or mustard. Yellow date hybrid is resistant to common tomato diseases, but requires mandatory preventive measures: spraying, frequent ventilation and temperature control.

In the open field, tomatoes can be affected by naked slugs; in hot summers, they are threatened by aphids, scoops and whiteflies. To combat, aqueous solutions of potassium permanganate and ammonia are used, as well as bio-preparations, which can be purchased in specialized stores.

Beautiful and tasty bright yellow tomatoes are a real decoration of the greenhouse. If the simplest agrotechnical requirements are observed, the yellow date will delight gardeners with a good harvest and high consumer qualities of the fruit.
