Growing features

The best results "Torbay" gives in the unprotected soil regions of the southern strip. In the middle climatic zone, it is better to cover with a film to preserve the yield. This does not affect the taste of other qualities. In the north, it is grown only in heated greenhouses.

"Torbay" must be tied, and strengthen the branches with props, this will prevent them from breaking off under the weight of the fruit. The bush is formed into one or two stems, more often into one, this will allow you to get larger tomatoes.

At the initial stage of development, it requires dressings containing a large amount of phosphorus and potassium. In the future, complex fertilizing and organic fertilizers are suitable.

Diseases and pests

Due to its high resistance to disease, this hybrid variety only needs prevention. Compliance with the regime of watering, fertilizing and lighting, and timely loosening of the soil will save gardeners from tomato diseases. The only disease that both adult plants and seedlings can be exposed to is black leg. This disease is incurable, so the affected bushes are destroyed, and the places where they grew are treated with fungicides.

When grown in greenhouses, it is often prone to the greenhouse whitefly. They use "Confidor" against it, at the rate of 1 ml per 10 liters of water, the resulting solution is enough for 100 square meters. m.

You can get rid of spider mites with a soapy solution, the same remedy can be used against aphids. For the Colorado potato beetle, use Prestige.

As follows from the brief review, "Torbay" is not a very difficult tomato to care for. Amateurs and gardeners without experience may well grow on their own. Good luck and good harvest.
