Medicinal tinctures based on ginger root have been used by people for a long time. They are irreplaceable when the healing properties are contained in the fruit itself. Ginger tinctures are especially popular these days.

Ginger can not only complement the taste of dishes, used as a seasoning, but also heal the body.

Who is suitable for such treatment, how to make the tincture correctly and what liquids should be used for preparation - you will find all this in the material.

What is the difference from infusion and broth?

Before proceeding with the preparation of the tincture, we advise you to understand that it differs from the infusion and decoction, which are also common in medical practice. So, in folk medicine, it is customary to divide infusions into cold and hot, depending on the method of preparation.

If it is necessary to prepare a hot infusion, then a thermos is used for this purpose. Medicinal raw materials are laid there, as a rule, crushed, they are poured with boiling water and insisted for up to 10 hours. The hot infusion is intended to be consumed immediately.... You can store it in a thermos no more than 24 hours and warm. The cold infusion is stored in the refrigerator, also within 24 hours.

During preparation, the raw material is poured with cool water and placed in a water bath for 15 minutes. At first glance, the preparation of decoctions is not much different from cold infusions. But there are several fundamental differences between them:

  • Firstly, decoctions are prepared mainly from coarse raw materials.
  • Secondly, in the process, the raw material undergoes heat treatment; it should be boiled over low heat for up to 30 minutes. Then the broth should be filtered to obtain a drink without the parts of the used plant.

As you can see decoctions differ from infusions in that they are preheated and filtered... Tinctures are prepared in a completely different way. They are filled not with water, but with an aqueous solution of ethyl alcohol, vodka; the use of other alcoholic beverages is also allowed. The ratio of raw materials to dressing should be approximately 1: 5.

It is required to insist the finished drink - at medium temperature and in no case in sunlight. Tinctures are used in very small quantities. If taken orally, the doses will be measured in drops. In addition, tinctures are used for grinding.

What does it help from?

Ginger is a herb that grows naturally in Japan, India, Brazil, Argentina, China and West Africa. Its homeland is considered to be the south and east of Asia, but due to its beneficial properties, ginger has become famous all over the world.

  • Firstly, many useful substances, such as vitamins, were found in the roots of ginger. Instead of buying vitamins at the pharmacy, you can use ginger, it contains magnesium, phosphorus, sodium, silicon, potassium, manganese, calcium, germanium, chromium, iron, aluminum, nicotinic acid, caprylic acid, oleic acid, vitamin C, asparagine , choline, fats. Everything you need for the stable functioning of the body.

Essential amino acids such as methionine, threonine, phenylanine, valine and tryptophan can also be found in the plant.

  • Secondly, ginger has a positive effect on the digestive system. And the point here is not only in the special taste, but in facilitating the digestibility of food in the stomach. If you suffer from indigestion, your gastrointestinal tract does not work regularly, or you experience abdominal pain, ginger will help. It stimulates the production of gastric juice and increases appetite.
  • Thirdly, ginger improves immunity, fights infection, has warming and expectorant properties, which makes it an excellent solution for diseases of the upper respiratory tract.
  • Joint pain, atherosclerosis, decreased elasticity of blood vessels - all this is also included in the list of indications for the use of tincture on the roots of ginger.

Indications and contraindications for use

Ginger is recommended to be taken in case of weakened immunity, colds (but not at high temperatures), vascular pathologies and degenerative processes with them (the root helps to strengthen the walls of blood vessels), improves the functioning of the digestive tract, helps to cope with nausea, flatulence, and disorders. Ginger will be useful for those who want to lose weight..

It is a natural remedy that boosts metabolism in a natural way. Ginger does have many positive properties, but there are also a number of contraindications. You should not take the tincture in such cases:

  1. People with stomach ulcers, as well as patients with gastritis of the stomach and duodenum (getting into the body, gastritis affects the mucous membrane and can aggravate the situation).
  2. People with liver disease (cirrhosis, hepatitis and stones in the biliary tract). There is no direct prohibition, but drinking is not recommended, some substances in the ginger root can cause stones to get stuck.
  3. People with bleeding or the danger of their occurrence.
  4. For people with allergies on the root of ginger.

Pregnant women have the opportunity to take tincture to relieve symptoms of toxicosis, in the absence of the above diseases.

How to cook it right: step by step recipes

On the water

A suitable option for people who do not want or cannot drink alcohol-containing tinctures.

For cooking, you should:

  1. Peel the raw materials and cut them into large slices.
  2. Next, put the pieces of ginger in a saucepan, calculate the proportion (1 to 10, for example, 30 grams of ginger will require 300 grams of water and fill with water (so that the ginger is completely covered).
  3. We boil the tincture for 20 minutes.
  4. After that, the resulting liquid should be cooled and filtered.

It is recommended to add lemon juice to the resulting tincture (this is tasty and healthy) - up to 10 milliliters. The tincture should be taken in 2 tablespoons in the morning and in the evening.

On vodka

Vodka tincture is prepared in several stages:

  1. First you need to wash and peel the ginger.
  2. Cut it into large pieces, put it in a bottle and fill it with vodka based on the following proportion: 400 grams of ginger per 1 liter of vodka.
  3. Our tincture should be warm for two to three weeks. Place the bottle in a warm, dark place, covered with a cloth.
  4. A mandatory requirement is to stir the bottle every two to three days so that no "sediment" falls out.
  5. After the tincture has reached readiness, strain it, add a few drops of lemon juice and a tablespoon of honey.

Take vodka tincture should be one teaspoon twice a day.

We suggest watching a video on how to make a vodka-based infusion of ginger and honey:

On alcohol

If it is decided to prepare a tincture on alcohol, then the whole algorithm of actions will be no different from a tincture on vodka.

  1. We also clean and cut the ginger and put it in the bottle.
  2. The difference will be noticeable in proportion - before pouring ginger with alcohol in a ratio of 1 to 10, the alcohol itself must be diluted with water - in a ratio of 1 to 2.
  3. The alcohol-drenched ginger should also be infused for two to three weeks. Shake your tincture regularly to avoid precipitation.
  4. If desired, you can add lemon to the finished product.

Drink one teaspoon twice a day.

On moonshine

Moonshine in our case acts as the same refueling option as vodka and alcohol. We offer you one of the most common recipes:

  1. We need 50 grams of chopped ginger root.
  2. We put it in a liter jar, add 100 grams of honey and pour moonshine to the top.
  3. The jar should be covered and placed (but not in a warm place, as is the case with vodka, but in a cool place) to infuse for 2-4 weeks.
  4. Then we filter the resulting tincture and pour it into another container.

Take one teaspoon 2 times a day.

You can read about ginger tinctures on moonshine here.

On cognac

Tincture on cognac, if used with sugar, will turn into a tasty and healthy liqueur. But with the same time, you can prepare a healthy drink using only honey and lemon zest. We suggest you familiarize yourself with two recipes.

With sugar

We will need:

  • White and brown sugar (240 grams and 120 grams).
  • 350 ml of water.
  1. We measure the chopped ginger root with tablespoons (and take three pieces).
  2. Add cloves to taste, black cardamom seeds, orange zest.
  3. We fill all this with 120 milliliters of brandy and 250 milliliters of vodka.

With honey and lemon juice

The second recipe consists of these ingredients:

  • Liquid honey (250 milliliters).
  • 250 milliliters of water.
  • 3 tablespoons of ginger root.
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 375 milliliters of cognac.
  1. First, bring water and honey to a boil, remove the foam, add lemon juice and ginger - boil for another 4 minutes.
  2. Add cognac and let the drink brew for a month, pour it into bottles and wait at least two more weeks before drinking.

Slimming ginger tea

An excellent option for losing weight would be ginger tea.... You can buy it in a store or cook it yourself, calculating the proportions as accurately as possible:

  1. We need 30 grams of ginger and 300 milliliters of water.
  2. We put on fire and "cook" after boiling for 15 minutes.
  3. When the liquid has cooled to at least 40 degrees, add lemon juice to the tea.

And enjoy the resulting drink before meals once a day.

Various tinctures of ginger for weight loss are discussed in a separate article.

We suggest watching a video about the benefits of ginger tea for weight loss:

Possible side effects

Possible side effects are associated with the presence of gengerols in the root. They irritate the mucous membrane and can cause vomiting, diarrhea, irritation of the intestinal walls and some other discomfort.

therefore ginger tinctures are not recommended for people with gastritis and ulcers... Sometimes the same symptoms occur in case of an overdose, in which case you should stop taking the drug. It should be remembered that ginger increases the effectiveness of heart remedies.

Ginger tinctures are a great opportunity to gain energy and treat certain diseases. Ginger boosts immunity, has a beneficial effect on the stomach, speeds up metabolism, so it is also suitable for people who want to lose weight. According to your preferences, you can choose a tincture with water, vodka, alcohol, cognac and even ginger tea. The main thing is not to exceed the indicated doses. Enjoy your meal.
